General Conditions and Admission Rules to the Faculty

 

The Faculty accepts students holding the following certificates:

A) General Secondary School Certificate (Science or Mathematics).

B) Diploma from Technical Institutes for Technicians in the available specializations in the scientific departments.

C) Technical Secondary School Certificate (Five-year system) in the available specializations in the scientific departments.

D) Complementary Technical Secondary School Certificate in the available specializations in the scientific departments.

Skills and Aptitude Tests

All students applying for admission to the college, regardless of category (General Secondary, Technical Secondary, and Technician Preparation Diploma), are required to take a skills and creativity test.

The aptitude and skills tests will be held at the college location, on dates determined by the college in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education's Coordination Office.

Passing the aptitude test is a mandatory condition for admission to the college.

Acceptance of Technical Education Graduates

Students who hold a Technical Secondary School Diploma (Five-year system), Complementary Technical Secondary School Certificate, and Technician Preparation Diploma in the same specialization are accepted based on their total score in both theoretical and practical subjects of the diploma exams. The total acceptance rate for these students shall not exceed 10% of the total number of students admitted to the college from General Secondary School graduates. The following percentages apply to each specialization separately:

Acceptance Rates for Technical Diploma Graduates

  • 5%: Diploma in Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting
  • 5%: Diploma in Furniture and Carpentry
  • 1%: Diploma in Mechanical Imaging and Printing
  • 1%: Diploma in Textile Printing
  • 1%: Diploma in Ready-Made Garments
  • 1%: Diploma in Decoration
  • 1%: Diploma in Advertising
  • 1%: Diploma in Decorative Ironwork and Metals
  • 1%: Diploma from Intermediate Technical Institutes (Five-year system) in Architecture and Wood Carving

Admission is granted according to the specified percentages for each specialization, provided that the student achieves a minimum of 75% in the theoretical subjects to be eligible for admission to the college. The student is accepted after passing the first level (preparatory year) in the department corresponding to their high school specialization, and they are not allowed to be admitted or transferred to any other department within the college.

Acceptance of University Graduates (Post-Bachelor’s Education)

  1. University Degrees from Other Colleges:

The college accepts graduates who have obtained a bachelor's degree from a university recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities or its equivalent, and wish to obtain a bachelor's degree in one of the applied arts specializations, under the following conditions:

  1. The same admission requirements for certificates qualifying for acceptance to the college, according to this regulation, including the artistic and innovative abilities test conducted at the college.

  2. Enrollment as regular students starting from the preparatory year.

  3. A scientific equivalence process (if necessary) to determine the courses the student needs to study in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in applied arts. Based on this, the college council determines the required academic levels to be completed.

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts:

The college accepts graduates who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts in one of the college's specializations and wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in another applied arts specialization, under the following conditions:

  1. Enrollment as regular students in one of the scientific departments / first-year levels.

  2. Conducting a scientific equivalence process to determine the courses the student needs to study.

  3. The number of students accepted should not exceed 5% of the number of students accepted from secondary school graduates each year.

  4. Approval by the college council.
